Hello! Just a quick "I replaced a few black&white pages with colored pages"-post again! Hope you enjoy. :) This time I had time to finish coloring two extra Prologue pages. Head over here and here to check them out. New readers probably saw them already, so this is a shout-out to all old readers!

Today is the international 24h comic day! Are you going to participate? :)

I won't participate this year, because I really want to focus on catching up on coloring the Prologue. It bothers me to leave it uncolored for too long! So instead of joining my artist friends I am going to spend those hours on coloring - - - I have even set up hourly deadlines like the 24h comic day!

I haven't had a free weekend to work on The Din for a while now, so, I'm really excited! If I reach my goal I'll post an extra page next week. Count on it!

But I did participate on the 24h comic day challenge last year! I drew a short comic about a bit older Gregg & Elsa. Might scan and post it sometime soon! :)

Good luck everyone who participate this year! <3

No update today! Nooo, don't run away - hear me out!

I have decided to change my update schedule to Mondays!

There will be a new page up only in two days. But since I am on such a tight schedule on my day job right now, I can't afford to post two pages in a row. Sorry. So... new page will be up in 2 days and then all comic updates will be made on mondays! Why? Because Mondays fit much better with my current schedule in life!

To compensate, I decided to start re-upload what used to be Chapter 1 (Also known as Old Chapter 1 & Old Chapter 2) in the Extras section. Yes, you heard me - there was an other Chapter 1 before the one I post now and it was drawn back in ... 2007? You see, after some great feedback from people who read my comic back then, I decided I needed a much better opening Chapter for The Din because I didn't do the core of the story or main characters justice. It was a very difficult, but wise, choice and I am happy I went through that process. The comic's beginning is so much better now.

What do you think? Read the old pages and tell me what you think this far. :)

Here's some short info about how the comic was presented back then. I presented it in printed format, in small books, which contained a chapter of two stories (Gregg's time line and Lorentz' time line). You could read from both ends of the book, their time lines meeting in the middle. Makes sense? Haha, maybe not. The two-sided-comic book was a neat idea but it didn't work out in the long run for this project, especially not online. :) This is how it looked, back in the days:

First The Din fanzine. The Din was still called "Försupen" back then. (booklet was read from both ends). Early Concept (2007)

So, the current Chapter 1 represents the old Chapter 1 & old Chapter 2 combined - only completely rewritten and redrawn in much better format and pacing. Since Lorentz yet has to be presented in the current version of the comic, I decided to post only Gregg's time line from Volume 1 for now, to avoid spoilers.  I'll post more of the old pages once more of the story has been revealed in the comic as it is now, presented on the website. :)

Go here to start reading the old Chapter 1

Confused? Read more about the production time frame over at the info section. An other option is to just wait for the next new page in two days and ignore all of this old stuff for now. :) Personally, I just love looking back to see how much the comic evolved.

Anyway, thanks for the patience and see you again in two days when I'll post a new, colored comic page! <3

Hello old and new readers! As most of you know, The Din started out black&white. This summer, right after relaunching the comic from the hiatus I had when redrawing Chapter 1, I decided to take on the huge task to color all pages made this far (about 150-160 pages).

Why, you might ask? Not because I'm insane, no. But because I really had the intention for this comic to be in color from the beginning - but I prioritized being able to update once or twice a week instead for a very long time.

However, people who read The Din and know how my colored comics look like, kept telling me that I really should make an effort to make this comic in color. I mean, I do work as a comic colourist occasionally after all - so why not find time to color my own precious project?

When I finally decided to start coloring the comic, I had already posted most of the Prologue. That leaves about 23 comic pages uncolored while I started to color Chapter 1. I'm going back to color the Prologue once in a while when I find my comic page buffer big enough.  Every time I replace an uncolored page with a colored one, I 'll let you know here. :)

Soo... here's the first one! Page 22 of the Prologue - now in full color! Click on the image to see the colored version of the page!

The Emilio Family

Here's the second art print in the print collection mentioned here. The prints will be part of future book giveaways. This would be the second illustration this far, and it's of the Emilio Family, earlier introduced in Chapter 1. :)

This image has been vote incentive for a while now - - if you vote for The Din over at topwebcomics, there is a high res version of this print there as a vote incentive. Thanks for any support!

This print is a portrait of the Emilio Family. As seen in the comic, it's a rather wealthy family. Not by super high proportions, but higher than the average. I hope I have communicated that well in this print! :)

Until next time! <3

Here's a first batch of WIPs that I post over at my twitter account while coloring the pages. :) I plan to post them here in batches as well - since they are a bit more up-close than the finished pages.

The Devastation of the Big Assault

Here's something other than new pages! An art print! :)

I have plans for a set of art prints for each chapter, to post as incentives and also to print for book give aways. This is the first one in the collection - illustrating parts of The Big Assault!

This image has been a vote incentive for some weeks now. You can download a high resolution file of this print by becoming a Patron over at The Din's Patreon campaign! :) You can also view a step-by-step version of it by only donating 2$ per month!

Thanks for watching and reading!

I want to show you guys a lovely piece of art that I got from my friend Zoroko!

Gregg by Zoroko
I commissioned her a while back and I am super happy with the outcome! If you can't tell, it's an older Gregg, since I really wanted to see her take on that. :)

If you are interested in commissioning Zoroko, check out this post. I truly recommend it! It was a really nice process and I could see WIPs of this piece and give feedback while she worked on it.
